All committees and special interests include children. New committees and special interest activity suggestions are always welcome.
MOMS Club of Parker-Southeast Committees include:
Babysitting Co-op
Need to run a few errands? Or maybe you just need some "you time." Try the babysitting co-op, it works on a ticket system. When you join the co-op, you are given tickets to use to "pay" for the babysitting provided by other co-op moms.
Book Club
The book club meets every six (6) weeks and members take turns hosting at their homes. Please see the latest book club file for information on books chosen for this year.
Hoot & Howl
This special group is for moms with “Husbands Out Of Town” and “Husbands Out Working Late". Some fun gatherings may include: pottery painting, pizza party, bring your own bagged supper, indoor play with snacks at a local mall. This group may be held in a public place or a member's home.
Kids Room
This committee was established to help moms out during the monthly social meeting. Two volunteers supervise the "kids room", where children can play with toys, read books, draw or color. This way little ones keep busy while moms focus their attention on the news and events for the upcoming month. The "Kids Room" is never mandatory, children are always welcome to remain with their moms during all meetings.
New Member Buddy
The "Buddy System" pairs a volunteer, veteran member with a new member to help them get acquainted with our wonderful organization. Buddies can meet, talk on the phone or email each other to help answer any questions or just to make a new member feel welcome. A veteran buddy may even accompany a new member to their first MOMS Club event.
Newsletter Editor
Each month moms receive a MOMS Club of Parker-Southeast newsletter. The newsletter includes an activity calendar for the upcoming month, a description of each activity planned, current news and information, upcoming events, and a bulletin board.
Playgroups
Playgroups are opportunities for moms and children to get to know each other in a casual, comfortable atmosphere. Each playgroup has a different structure, for example some small, some larger, some with like-aged children and others with moms who have multiple children. Members are welcome to join an existing playgroup or may contact the playgroup coordinator to form a new playgroup at any time.
Science Club
It's a scientific club just for moms! Discuss new research and discoveries in all fields of science and technology. No technical knowledge is needed to attend.
Scrapbooking
Whether you are a seasoned scrapbooker or just starting out, this is a great opportunity to join other moms, share layouts, organization, and other scrapbook ideas. Moms may meet at a scrapbook business or rotate homes.
Sunshine Group
Mom Support: Any time a mother needs a helping hand, a group of moms combine efforts to provide a family with a full meal and dessert. Reasons for the meal support could be an illness in the family, a personal crisis, or the birth of a child.
Website Committee
The MOMS Club of Parker-Southeast web site is designed to provide information about this wonderful organization to current, new, and future members.
Yahoo Groups
The MOMS Club of Parker-Northeast and the MOMS Club of Parker-Southseast have a combined Yahoo Group site. It is used as a tool to obtain various information such as referrals, opinions, news stories, articles, and much more. To join, new or current members are given access permission by the Yahoo Group Coordinator.
